Missing Link

$425.00

Here's a piece of driftwood that came from the Outer Banks area of North Carolina. I think the wood species is either cypress or sweetgum. Both trees are found near low-lying areas and at the edges of wetlands. Leave it to Mother Nature to sculpt this piece of wood into something remarkable. The head boasts a frontal horn with recognizable features like eyes, cheeks, mouth, and jaws. The driftwood is mounted to a wild spalted maple base on a steel rod. As you look around the piece, different vantage points present interesting angles. I liken it to some sort of fantastical creature, but everything is open to interpretation.

Medium:
Driftwood, Maple, Steel

Dimensions:
24” tall x 14” wide x 14” deep
